Hypnosis is a special way of using ordinary psychological and physiological occurrences to direct the subject's attention upon a certain idea to shift them into an altered experience of themselves or their reality.
Before commencing any form of hypnotherapy, an initial assessment and evaluations will be required to get a better understanding of the issue and to discuss what you would like to achieve from our sessions together. It is during this stage that we will outline and agree upon a specific goal of therapy. We will also discuss in depth what hypnosis actually is, my working model and the role which you are expected to take to give you the best chances for a successful outcome. I will also give you a brief introduction to hypnosis and how to best utilise your imagination to your advantage.
I follow an evidence-based approach and combine techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Problem Solving Therapy, Assertiveness Training and other modalities to reduce and alleviate a broad range of presenting issues. I tend to employ techniques that are based on scientific research rather than anecdotal evidence or gut feeling.
I believe in a collaborative nature of hypnotherapy treatments whereby we work together to ensure you are getting the most value out of each session.
I will offer support throughout, not just when we have time together, but also in between sessions and following.
Self-efficacy is the belief in one’s own ability to succeed in a specific situation or to achieve a goal. I will teach you the skills to put yourself into hypnosis, with a particular goal in mind.

Through hypnotherapy and other proven techniques, I can support you overcome your feeling hopefulness, regain motivation, perspective and joy that you once had in your life.
I use a combination of evidence-based techniques to help you understand your anxiety and take control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. You will leave the sessions with a better understanding on how your mind works, and with an array of tools and skills which will allow you to continue the work and support yourself after the sessions are over.
Chronic pain is usually described as pain that persists beyond the normal time that tissues take to heal following an injury. The experience of pain is felt in the brain rather than from the source. Hypnotherapy can help to change the perception of pain whether you are suffering from arthritis, a sore back, muscle tension or other chronic pain disorders. I have also successfully used hypnosis to reduce anxiety related to medical conditions such as childbirth and dental surgery.
By working together 121 or in a group workshop format, I can prepare you for adversity by finding healthier ways of responding to stressful thoughts and feelings.
You will learn a comprehensive toolkit of effective therapeutic strategies and hypnotherapy techniques, drawing upon innovative "mindfulness and acceptance-based" approaches to cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), combined with elements of established psychological approaches to stress prevention and management. It's possible to build long-term resilience by developing psychological flexibility using these techniques.
